Natural Connections

Modern life in Scotland is increasingly busy. The connections our ancestors had with nature and the land are being lost. As leisure time shrinks, or is filled with hi-tech experiences, opportunities to experience nature become fewer. And yet it is possible to connect with nature on a day to day basis. A second consecutive day of sharp frost continued the wintry theme in West Central Scotland. Ayr, tonight, was particularly cold. However the calm, bright conditions have come as a pleasant change from weeks of rain. Principal natural connection today was a presumed owl labouring over the top of the three-towns bypass at dusk.
