The last day of March was cold and windy. Nearly all the Mallards on the Cart in Paisley town centre were drakes, suggesting that the females have started egg-laying. Two Pied Wagtails were also along the river but a dead immature Cormorant was a sadder sight.
Today was a much better day with blue skies and hardly a breath of wind. News from the web is of Ospreys back at nest sites in Cumbria, Perthshire and Speyside (despite the snow).
