After the heavy rain of the last 48 hours, it was no surprise to find the Cart had breached its banks at Howford Bridge. However the level was still half a metre below the highest I've seen it.Plenty of birds were making themselves heard but few were breaking cover. Only a few singing Starlings and chirrupping House Sparrows at Moulin were willing to be seen.
