Natural Connections

Modern life in Scotland is increasingly busy. The connections our ancestors had with nature and the land are being lost. As leisure time shrinks, or is filled with hi-tech experiences, opportunities to experience nature become fewer. And yet it is possible to connect with nature on a day to day basis. An afternoon visit to the (flat calm) reservoirs in Murdieston Park produced most of the usual fare. Around twenty Starlings were singing noisily from the trees in the south east corner of the park. Down at the culvert under Old Inverkip Road, the singing Dipper seemed to have been displaced by a JCB working nearby.
