The planners of the new M74 extension have done a great job sowing the verges with wild flowers - they are now a patriotic mix of Red Campion, White Mouse-ear and Bluebells.
Garnqueen Loch (below) held nesting Mute Swans, Coots with hatched young, a noisy pair of Little Grebes and a single drake Ruddy Duck.
