The bulk of today was taken up with a long walk from Ratho to Linlithgow. My focus was mostly on the walks (including a long diversion around the building works for a new marina quarter in Winchburgh) but plenty of birds were encountered along the way including Tree Sparrow, Yellowhammer, Skylark (singing), Raven, Stock Dove and Wigeon (a feeding flock of 130). Also notable was my first flowering Coltsfoot of the year - on the grass canal verge between Philipstoun and Linlithgow.
