Natural Connections

Modern life in Scotland is increasingly busy. The connections our ancestors had with nature and the land are being lost. As leisure time shrinks, or is filled with hi-tech experiences, opportunities to experience nature become fewer. And yet it is possible to connect with nature on a day to day basis. A bitterly cold wind and a high tide meant that relatively few species were visible along the Inverclyde coast north of Inverkip today. However a big flock of Canada Geese on the fields behind the coastal path held a fair smattering of Curlews, Oystercatchers and Common Gulls. Passerines included Meadow Pipit, Pied Wagtail, Song Thrush and Starling.
