Today's walk was from Perth to Bridge of Earn and back. Interesting birds included a single Jay, lots of Pied Wagtails and hundreds of Pink-footed Geese. Best however were the twenty or so Crossbills encountered near the top of Moncrieffe Hill. We spent a wonderful half an hour enjoying their antics as they flew between the tops of small conifers, feeding, perching on exposed branches and calling to eachother.

"The grand show is eternal. It is always sunrise somewhere; the dew is never dried all at once; a shower is forever falling; vapor is ever rising. Eternal sunrise, eternal dawn and gloaming, on sea and continents and islands, each in its turn, as the round earth rolls".
