Highlight of a walk from Kirknewton to Winchburgh today was a group of four Stock Doves displaying around some ancient trees in St Catherine's churchyard, East Calder. Flocks of Chaffinches were at three sites and Blackbirds were present almost everywhere, but two Redwings were the only other winter thrushes seen. Small groups of Greylag and Pink-footed Geese passed overhead.
